One of the most brilliant sages, with bright red tubular blossoms and a lovely pineapple scent. Attractive to pollinators, especially hummingbirds. It can be used to decorate summer drinks, flavor ice cream, chop into salsa, as a chicken marinade, in tropical fruit salad, and brewed into a pleasant tea. Extremely cold sensitive and should be planted as an annual or in a pot that can be moved indoors over winter. Locate in full sun in moist, well-drained soil.
