Building Community One Yard at a Time
Resilient Roots is collaborating with Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod to design and install eco-friendly, edible landscapes for local homeowners. By minimizing lawns and maximizing native plantings, we’re creating a strong network of interconnected backyards across the region that will help protect our water and wildlife resources while giving families a head start in growing their own food and enjoying a low-maintenance outdoor space.
In 2023, we designed and installed our first landscapes at Habitat homes in Sandwich, and over the next several years we will continue our work at dozens more throughout the Cape. We plan to stay in touch with the families, visiting several times over the following few years to offer them new ways to grow their food and connect with nature on their properties.
We’re honored to be among Habitat’s neighbors helping neighbors, and we invite you to join us in this special local joint effort.
