Seed Saving - 9/27/2025
9 - 11 am Why save seeds? To save money! To promote seed diversity! To preserve unique varieties—think Eastham turnip! Join Deb Winther (RR board member) and Beth Hardy Wade (RR associate executive director) to explore seed saving. We will delve into what makes hybrids different from heirlooms and discuss which seed types are best for saving. We’ll also touch on native plants and ethical considerations in the collection of wild seeds. During the workshop, we will provide a demonstration to guide you through the seed-saving process. You will learn step-by-step about wet and dry seed processing and understand which method to use for different types of seeds. We will also cover how to store seeds properly and how to test them for germination before planting next season. This workshop takes place at Fuller Farm, 995 Route 149, Marstons Mills.
