Resilient Roots invites you to learn how to preserve your summer fruits and veggies. Kim Concra from Cape Cod Cooperative Extension will guide us through various methods of canning that you can do in your own kitchen. Join us for a hands-on introduction to home canning where you'll learn the essential procedures and safety practices needed for successful water-bath canning. We'll cover proper equipment, preparing jars, safe food handling, processing times, and the importance of following tested recipes.
You will be able to watch as Kim demonstrates the methods, emphasizing the safety aspects of food preservation. There will be an opportunity to be hands-on in the process and you take home a jar of pickles.
Perfect for beginners and anyone looking to refresh their canning skills. No prior experience necessary.
We have a sliding-scale fee system. The cost for us to bring you the workshop is $45. If you feel you can help out another person to come, you can choose to pay $55. If you can't afford the full cost, you are welcome to pay $35.
