At this hands-on workshop you will learn what types of wood are best to grow shiitake's and when to cut your logs.  Where to get your spawn, how to inoculate your logs and how to preserve them and store them until they begin to provide mushrooms.  

Besides tasting amazing, shiitake mushrooms have many health benefits such as significant amounts of 9 different minerals and vitamins, they are  anti-inflammatory, aid in weight loss, fight cancer, protect the heart, aid in digestion, help to manage blood sugar levels and aid in the health of your bones, hair and skin.  

Come to this workshop prepared to work outside to create a log to take home.
